The victim was walking around 6:15 a.m. in the 7100 block of Eastman Street, when the man grabbed her and tried to drag her away, Sgt. Art Campa said.
The man pistol-whipped her when she resisted, and then got in a vehicle and drove off, Campa said. He said the woman was hospitalized for treatment of a head wound.
Her attacker was described as a thin black male in his late 20s wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, the sergeant said.
