It's no joke: President Obama has won the Nobel Peace Prize "for efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples".
TRANSLATED: This was awarded to him for not partaking in that evil "cowboy diplomacy".
Why not just create a new prize and call it "Prize for Not Being George W. Bush"?
To the Nobel judges in Norway, it's the president's "intentions and values" that are a lot more important than his accomplishments. That's quite the hollow justification! It's like giving the crown to the ugly girl in the Miss America Pageant and justifying it by saying, "She earned it because of her magnificent hair and make-up efforts!"
The Nobel Peace Prize lost so much legitimacy when it was awarded to anti-Semite Jimmy Carter, despot Yasser Arafat, and serial liar Al Gore.
The Nobel peace prize, named for the guy who invented dynamite, given to Obama for his peace summit between a lib professor and a cop???
As of October 9, 2009, it lost all validity. It's now, officially, a farce.
What's extraordinary about Obama's win is that the nomination closed on February 1st of this year. Translated, our president was in office A MERE TWO WEEKS before he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. He should have declined the prize. This is so sickly narcissistic.
So what on earth did he do that made him so worthy of one of the most famous and (supposedly) prestigious awards on earth? A big speech in Germany when he was campaigning? Sure. Bringing peace to his violent, gang-riddled hometown of Chicago while he was a community activist and state senator? Maybe not... Bringing harmony to the hateful, anti-American Trinity United Church of Christ? Not exactly. Voted "present" a lot? Sure. That's not too divisive.
The committee was also certain to make clear that they were impressed by his outreach to the Muslim world and his attempts to curb nuclear proliferation. WAIT, this must be a newsflash! Iran has complied with Obama? Well damn. We were also wholly unaware of the fact that Barack Obama has now quelled Islamofacism.
