CBS News 8 (KFMB-TV), a CBS affiliate in San Diego, has an opening for a weekend anchor/reporter. This person will co-anchor our #1 rated weekend newscasts and report during the week. We are looking for a candidate with credibility and a lot of energy who can ad-lib and handle breaking news while anchoring, as well as a strong reporter with outstanding journalistic skills who knows how to dig for facts and consistently tells a compelling story. Previous anchoring experience, strong live-shots and excellent writing are essential. Minimum of three years commercial TV reporting experience preferred. Candidates must possess a current valid driver's license.
KFMB STATIONS - CBS News 8 (KFMB-TV) ASSOCIATE PRODUCER
CBS News 8 (KFMB-TV), a CBS affiliate in San Diego, is looking for an Associate Producer for our evening and/or weekend newscasts. Primary responsibilities include news writing, line producing, posting and updating web stories, and building on-air graphics. Candidates must be able to work evenings, weekends and some alternate shifts. Previous experience writing for broadcast news is required. Previous experience line producing, as well as experience working with VIZrt graphics system and ENPS is preferred. A degree in Journalism or Communications is also preferred.

CBS News 8 (KFMB-TV) a CBS affiliate and San Diego's #1 News Station, is looking for a dynamic Executive Producer for our weekday newscasts (and possibly some weekend newscasts). The Executive Producer's role is to oversee production of news content on multiple platforms, provide direction and feedback to news staff and perform as a member of the news management team. This position requires the ability to focus on details while achieving big-picture goals. We are seeking candidates with superior news judgment and strong editorial, promotional and communication skills and that understand the nuances of producing compelling local newscasts while incorporating social media to enhance the content. Primary responsibilities include story selection and presentation on multiple platforms, staff management and coaching, and daily promotion of the newscasts. Web producing skills and a thorough understanding of social media are also necessary. Minimum three years large market news management or producing experience at a commercial television station is required. College degree in journalism, communications or related major is preferred.

KFMB STATIONS - RADIO PROMOTIONS COORDINATOR
KFMB Stations (100.7 JACK FM and 760 AM) is looking for a Radio Promotions Coordinator. This position requires a flexible schedule to work some holidays and/or occasional evenings or weekend hours. We are searching for a highly enthusiastic and energetic individual that is proactive, detail-oriented and has a “can do” attitude. Candidates must possess excellent customer service skills, be able to work independently and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with heavy phones. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to coordinating all station on-site events; supervising and scheduling the promotion assistants and interns; maintaining and managing all social media outlets; creating, planning and implementing station promotions; managing the day-to-day flow of the promotions department; developing & maintaining communication systems between programming, sales, and the KFMB Stations database; assisting with the coordination of web content; and enhancing the stations public image and outreach to the community for 100.7 JACK FM and 760 KFMB. Candidates must be proficient with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and the Internet. Prior radio promotions, social media and/or public relations experience are a plus. KFMB-AM - PRODUCTION ASSISTANT/BOARD OPERATOR
Talk Radio 760 KFMB has an immediate opening for a part-time production assistant/board operator to work approximately 30-35 hours/week, including weekends. Candidate should have strong voice over skills. On-air experience is a BIG plus. Job duties include running a tight board, recording, editing, and mixing various projects before, during, and after assigned live broadcasts. Position requires the ability to multi-task, basic production skills and a general understanding of broadcast consoles. Familiarity with PR&E consoles and digital audio storage systems such as Nexgen, Audiovault, and/or ENCO is a plus. Dependability, teamwork, and creativity are also required. Digital editing skills are required. Candidates must also be capable of setting up and successfully executing a remote broadcast, either via ISDN or POTS using a classic Zephyr, Zephyr Xtreme or Comrex Vector.
KFMB-AM TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
KFMB-AM Talk Radio 760 KFMB is searching for technical director.. This is a full-time position and may require some weekend shifts. Job duties include board operation, recording/editing, and the promotion/coordination of on-air content. Position requires a strong understanding of broadcast consoles (e.g. PR&E, SAS, Harris, Wheatstone, AXIA, Mackie, etc.) automation systems (e.g. Nexgen, ENCO, Audiovault), remote broadcast gear (e.g. Telos, Comrex, etc.) and editing tools (Adobe Audition, Pro-Tools, etc.). We are looking for someone who is dependable, creative, and able to multi-task; Candidates must have a minimum of 2 or more years of previous radio production experience, including experience with both on-air and off-air audio production, setting up remote broadcasts, and properly managing program clocks. Digital editing skills are required.

KFMB STATIONS - HUMAN RESOURCES INTERNSHIP
KFMB (Human Resources) is seeking a highly motivated intern to assist with various HR projects. Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Bachelors Degree program in Human Resources  (Junior or Senior status) and have a strong desire to learn more about HR and how to apply the skills they have already learned. Intern must be able to follow directions yet still work independently (under supervision), perform detail oriented work with a high degree of accuracy, and have excellent writing skills. Must also be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and internet savvy.
CBS NEWS 8 INTERNSHIP
CBS News 8's internship program is intended to assist students who are interested in pursuing a career in the broadcasting industry.

Internships will provide students with an opportunity to learn about television broadcasting as well as hands-on experience in the newsroom. Selected candidates will work closely with producers and will assist with various functions such as researching story ideas, writing scripts, retrieving video and working in the control room to bring the news to our viewers.

We are looking for interns who are committed to a career in broadcasting and have already completed some prior journalism courses. Prior media-based internships and/or previous work experience in the broadcasting industry will also be taken into consideration when evaluating applicants. Juniors and seniors are preferred.
KFMB-RADIO PROMOTIONS INTERNSHIP
Internships are available in Radio Promotions to help students gain work experience in radio promotions, including general administrative duties and the coordination of promotional events. Candidates must be able to drive themselves to/from remote locations and be able to lift   30-40 lbs.  Internship hours are flexible but may involve weekends and holidays.
KFMB-AM INTERNSHIP
Internship is geared towards a better understanding of radio programming, including show preparation, production, call screening, and technical assistance during live broadcasts. Candidates must be available 10-15 hours/week. Previous experience in public or commercial radio is helpful.
KFMB INTERACTIVE INTERNSHIP
KFMB Interactive's internship program is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in either online journalism or multimedia graphic design.

Selected journalism interns will work directly with the KFMB Interactive content team gathering and updating stories/video for cbs8.com. Interns will learn the process of analyzing content from multiple sources and posting to desktop, mobile, apps and social platforms.

Selected graphic design interns will work with the KFMB Interactive design team on website layout, ad design and design projects that relate to all interactive media platforms.

Each selected intern will have a unique individual project that will be completed during the course of the internship related to their field of study. Internship candidates must demonstrate an interest in online media and have completed upper division journalism/design courses. Juniors and seniors are preferred. Candidates must be available 10-15 hours a week.
*Internships are unpaid and therefore interns must be enrolled in a college or university internship program that provides school credit in exchange for no pay. Candidates must be able to provide proof of credit prior to starting their assignment. If selected, candidates will be required to complete an "Intern Eligibility Form" and "Waiver of Liability Form" for KFMB Stations
