If it's true that more convent spending on education does not mean better test results, and if it's true that more convent spending on healthcare doesn't mean better healthcare, and if it's true that more government spending on jobs doesn't result in more jobs, could it also possibly be true that more government spending on defense doesn't necessarily make us safer?

And conversely, could cutting defense spending make us safer? We asked this question at 7:00 and had some great phone calls (Leave your answer below!):
