When a little kid is in a situation that they don't like, it is automatically "not fair!"
The problem is when adults can't differentiate "this is not what I want" and "this is not fair." Too many people use these interchangeably.
When people hear the president say he will "restore fairness" people interpret that as "he will restore what I want."
Now the president can once again promise everything to all people, while really saying nothing.
