Talmadge man arrested for stabbing stepson

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A Talmadge man was behind bars Thursday on suspicion of stabbing his stepson in the back during an argument, authorities reported.

Derrick A. White, 56, allegedly attacked the younger man, who is in his 20s, with a knife at their home in the 5100 block of Monroe Avenue about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to San Diego police.

Medics took the victim to a hospital for treatment of wounds that were not considered life-threatening, SDPD Officer David Stafford said.

White was booked into county jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury. He was being held on $30,000 bail pending arraignment, scheduled for Friday afternoon.
