Liberals have a monopoly on loving the earth. And if liberals love the earth, then by default, conservatives hate the earth.
Obviously that's not true. But how do we love the earth? We know we're against cap and trade, we're against the EPA, we're against ridiculous emission standards, etc, but what are we FOR.
The last few days we've explored the free market solutions to preserving the environment.
I would listen to these three interviews in this order:
From this morning, Professor Bruce Yandle on "common law" vs "statutory law", and how the biggest polluters LOVE environmental regulations:

Don Watkins from the Ayn Rand Center on how we should view pollution in the context of human existence:

Pat Michaels from CATO (I don't completely agree with Pat on everything, but he) does a nice job explaining some economic fundamentals, and making the point that we can't care about the environment unless we're industrialized. The picture above is from India. CLICK HERE for a list of the 10 most polluted cities in the world. They're all in communist or third world countries. Why is that?

I would like to bring all of this together on tomorrow's show.
Until then please read more from the Property and Environment Research Center, "Improving environmental quality through property rights and markets"
