The San Diego Municipal Employee Association asked the Public Employment Relations Board in Sacramento to try and block the pension initiative from the June ballot.

We talked to city attorney Jan Goldsmith about PERB's argument, which he called absurd, ridiculous and nonsense: (23:24)

"They really have lost a sense of reality. This is the Sacramento reality, where the power is with labor unions. The power is political. It's all politically driven...When I see a lawyer in Sacramento using her power politically to support her friends, that is wrong. That is absolutely wrong."

When I asked Jan what PERB does on a daily basis, after listing off a few of their duties he said: (24:05)

"I think what they do more than anything else is sit down and have coffee with the labor unions. They are owned and operated by labor unions. As is most of Sacramento is by the way."

He also called PERB a "Mickey Mouse Star Chamber." (18:00):
