ESCONDIDO (CNS) - About 150 people were evacuated Monday from a medical office building in Escondido while investigators worked to determine what caused some employees to become weak and dizzy, according to the Escondido Fire Department.
Escondido firefighters and paramedics were called to the Graybill Medical Group offices at 225 East 2nd Ave. about 3:05 p.m. after four employees complained of weakness and dizziness, according to Battalion Chief John Tenger.
They were taken outside, evaluated by paramedics then released, he said.
Eight other employees also were found to have similar symptoms, Tenger said. They also treated and released.
About 150 people were evacuated and the building was shut down, Tenger said.
What caused the employees' symptoms remained undetermined as of late afternoon, according to Tenger who said county health officials were called in.
Tenger said the building had recently had HVAC, painting and carpeting work done.
