The VA wants to build a center to treat vets with PTSD in Old Town. They would take over the old Thomas Jefferson School of Law building just off the 5 (2121 San Diego Ave).
Many residents of Old town are against this new center.
The only concern I've heard so far that I give ANY credence to is the fact that this center would be across the street from a K-8 school. I hear that argument. I don't agree with it, but it's the best I've heard.
This morning we talked with Debbie Dominick, the director of the proposed center. I asked her about the school across the street and why they chose Old Town over any other location in the city.
