The past and present of the San Diego hotel tax

The news lately has been filled with talk of the new convention center and how to pay for it, including the use of the hotel tax to do so.

Does anyone know what any of that means though? When did the hotel tax even start, and where was that money supposed to go?

Chris Cate of the San Diego Taxpayers Association joined us and explained the facts and history of the tax. You can listen to the entire interview here.
