
The state believes that if you add the words "fee" or "benefit" to a tax, you won't understand that it is really a tax.
Wrong.
The Fire Prevention Benefit Fee which will lead to many households paying an extra tax of $150 a year, with no guarantee that the money will even be used in their own communities.
County Supervisor Dianne Jacob is fighting the tax, which she, along with Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association, contests is a triple tax.
She joined the show this morning and explained why this is so outrageous and even illegal.
