Bicyclist killed in collision with motorcycle in Mission Bay

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 59-year-old man on a bicycle was struck from behind by a motorcycle and fatally injured near Mission Bay, police said Sunday.

The accident on Morena Boulevard near Sea World Drive occurred about 6:20 p.m. Saturday, according to San Diego police. Both were northbound on Morena, and the motorcycle rider told police he came over a hill near Knoxville Street and was unable to avoid the bicycle in front of him, police said.

The injured bicycle rider was taken to a hospital, where he died. His name was being withheld until his next of kin could be identified.
