SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Two thieves smashed out the front window of a jewelry store in Little Italy early Friday and made away with several items, police said.
A passing motorist saw the break-in take place and the thieves fleeing from Ireila Fine Jewelry at 2136 Kettner Blvd. around 6:15 a.m., according to San Diego police Officer Frank Cali.
The thieves, who were both wearing gray hooded sweatshirts, fled in a vehicle southbound on Hawthorn Street, Cali said in a statement, adding the vehicle was later found abandoned at Columbia and West Ivy streets.
The thieves remained at large this morning, he said. The monetary loss was not revealed.
