SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A suspected drunken driver suffered severe internal injuries Wednesday when he lost control of his car while speeding down a steep grade in Bay Park, striking a guardrail before careening down a canyon, police said.
The crash in the 2800 block of Cowley Way was reported shortly after midnight, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.
The 29-year-old man was driving a 1997 BMW sedan, which rolled several times during the crash, the officer said in a statement.
He was intoxicated, Delimitros said.
