SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Two North County teenagers who went missing last weekend were safe Saturday, according to sheriff's officials.
Poway resident Ashlee Bizell, 17, and 16-year-old Tyler Thorton of Ramona were last seen in Poway July 28, and were reported missing Thursday, sheriff's officials said.
Sheriff's officials on Friday asked for the public's help to locate the Poway girl and Ramona boy who were thought to have traveled on foot in the Poway, Ramona or Lakeside areas.
Detectives who investigated their disappearance initially believed that the girl, who had dated Tyler, was possibly held against her will, although sheriff's spokeswoman Jan Caldwell on Friday said she could not disclose what prompted those suspicions.
The teens were found safe in Poway Friday evening and were taken to the Poway Sheriff's Station to be interviewed, sheriff's officials said. Additional details were not immediately released.
