CHULA VISTA (CNS) - A four-day crackdown on intoxicated and unlicensed drivers yielded 35 arrests, the Chula Vista police department said Monday.
Officers made traffic stops on 82 vehicles from Thursday through Sunday, a department statement said. Fourteen drivers were evaluated for being under the influence, and 10 were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, police said.
Five drivers were arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance, and one them also was named in an outstanding warrant, police said.
One person arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance was also booked for possession, and one motorist was booked for possession of marijuana.
Officers also arrested two drivers for suspended licenses and three for having no licenses at all, the statement said. A dozen citations were written for vehicle code violations, and three vehicles were impounded.
