SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - An apparent vehicle fire spread to nearby brush just off Interstate 5 in La Jolla Tuesday, causing lane closures while fire crews attempted to quell the flames.
The fire spread up a hillside just south of state Route 52. It appeared to be moving close to some homes, but fire crews were able to contain the blaze before any structures were damaged.
Fire crews were on scene attempting to fully extinguish the fire, forcing the closure of at least two lanes on I-5. The closure caused a backup of traffic on the roadway for at least a mile.
Motorists were advised to expect delays into early Tuesday evening.
