
SAN DIEGO (CNS) - An SUV owned by the San Diego Police Department burst into flames near City College following the San Diego Chargers home game early Sunday, and was a total loss.
The fire was at 1 a.m. near the southern end of Route 163, near 10th Ave.
According to broadcast reports, the SDPD recruitment vehicle driven by a police sergeant who was returning from Qualcomm Stadium after the game when it caught fire.
San Diego firefighters responded quickly, but were unable to save the SUV, which was destroyed.
