SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Two men were stabbed with a broken bottle during a fight outside a nightclub in North Park but both were expected to survive, police said Monday.
The stabbing outside U31 Bar and Cocktail Lounge at 3112 University Ave. was reported just before 11 p.m. Sunday, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.
A 21-year-old man who had gone outside the club to smoke a cigarette was confronted by a group of people and a fight ensued, Delimitros said in a statement. An unknown assailant "slashed" the 21-year-old in his neck with a broken bottle, he said.
A 26-year-old man went outside to help the 21-year-old and was stabbed in the neck with the same bottle, Delimitros said, adding that neither injury was life-threatening.
The cause of the fight was under investigation. No arrests were reported.
