The first round of speeches from the GOP convention were a mix of sweet and salty.

Ann Romney spoke about love and her family and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie got the crowd fired up.

Mike Slater breaks down the first night of the convention and reveals in this video report which speech he thought was the highlight.
