Multiple accidents in Mission Valley cause traffic delays

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A motorcyclist was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following a crash in Mission Valley, according to the California Highway Patrol and fire officials.

The motorcyclist was reported down in the lanes after a crash involving a white sedan about 4:25 p.m. on the transition ramp from northbound state Route 163 to eastbound Interstate 8, according to the CHP.

The transition ramp was closed following the crash, the CHP said.

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Three separate accidents in Mission Valley are causing a traffic jam for drivers using SR 163 and Interstate 8 Friday evening.

According to Chopper 8 live reports, a possible fatal crash involving a motorcycle happened on Northbound SR 163 at the Eastbound Interstate 8 transition.

A second crash has been reported on Southbound SR 163 near Interstate 8. Several cars are involved, but traffic lanes are open in that area.

Finally a multi-vehicle crash on Westbound Interstate 8 is backing up traffic.
