CHULA VISTA (CBS 8) - Six people were able to escape a fast moving house fire early Thursday morning.
The fire broke out around 1:30 a.m. when a home in the 100 block of Moss Street burst into flames.
A half dozen people were inside at the time and called 911 when they smelled smoke.
"Our dispatchers did a great job in talking to them and some point the phone call terminated and we think that's when they were unable to keep talking and were able to fortunately bail out of the home," said Battalion Chief Jeff Peter with the Chula Vista Fire Department.
Two people were transported to the hospital with serious injuries from breaking through the windows.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
