SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Hundreds of people and their four-legged friends took part in a walk Wednesday in support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure San Diego.
Local drug discovery company Takeda California hosted its fourth annual Takeda Dog Walk to raise funds for the organization.
More than 300 employees were joined by community leaders, breast cancer survivors and dogs, some from the Helen Woodward Animal Center.
"Walking with them as breast cancer survivors reminds us how important our research can be to people who are waiting for a cure and gives us motivation to work harder and do a better job in our research," Takeda California President and Chief Science Officer Keith Wilson said.
For every mile covered by a person or a dog, Takeda California will donate $10 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure San Diego.
