SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Female special agents are an invaluable part of the FBI, and on Thursday in San Diego they are being celebrated.
Susan Roley Malone was one of the first two female agents to join the FBI back in 1972.
"We had people that were accepting of us and were proud that we were there and encouraging. And there were also people that were standing back until we proved ourselves to show that we could do the same job that the men could do," Malone said.
This week, former and current female FBI agents are being honored at the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI Conference here in San Diego.
