SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Mayoral candidate Bob Filner took a bicycle tour around the city of San Diego Sunday to highlight efforts to make it more accessible to cyclists.

Filner started his trek in Little Italy and ended with a ride into Old Town state historic park.

He said it was important to him to see first-hand the issues bicyclists face, like potholes and uneven pavement.

Last week, Filner's opponent, Carl Demaio, announced his own plan to improve conditions for San Diego's bicyclists.
