CHOLLAS CREEK (CNS) Homicide detectives are investigating the murder of a 34-year-old man that occurred early Sunday.
At 5:34 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 5000 block of Sterling Court on a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, said Lt. Ernie Herbert of the Homicide Unit.
"They arrived to find the victim in front of a home, suffering from several apparent stab wounds,'' Herbert said.
Paramedics arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he died at 7:12 a.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was involved in a fight in front of one of the homes on Sterling Court. It is unknown who he was fighting with or why.
There is no suspect description or crime motive is not known. The identity of the victim was withheld by the Medical Examiner until his family was notified.
