SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A body believed to be that of a 50-year-old San Diego man who went missing after his boat capsized early Monday morning has washed ashore in Mission Beach.

Edgar Paglumodan and his brother-in-law were lobster fishing near Mission Beach around 1:00 a.m. Monday when their boat was hit by a big wave and capsized.

The brother-in-law was able to make it to shore, but Edgar did not. Edgar's family says he was not a good swimmer and was not wearing a life vest.

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A rogue wave caused a sailboat to overturn in Mission Bay early Monday, leaving a passenger missing and sending another to the hospital, authorities said.

The 20-foot vessel capsized near the north jetty at the entrance to Mission Bay sometime before 1 a.m., according to the U.S. Coast Guard's public affairs office.

San Diego City Lifeguards notified the Coast Guard at 12:46 a.m. that one person from the boat was rescued and taken to a local hospital but another was missing. The missing boater -- identified as a 50-year-old man -- remained missing as 7:30 a.m., authorities said.

Search efforts included the use of a Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter and a 45-foot Coast Guard vessel. San Diego police, fire-rescue personnel and lifeguards were also taking part in the search.
