Viewing held for woman shot by Border Patrol agent

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Dozens of people paid their respects Sunday for Valeria "Monique" Tachiquin, the woman who was fatally shot by a Border Patrol agent after she allegedly rammed him with her car.

The incident happened last week.

Officials say Tachiquin left an apartment where they were serving an arrest warrant, got into a car and pulled away, hitting an agent.

When the agent told her she was under arrest, she allegedly hit him and drove off with him on the hood.

That's when the agent fired.

Tachiquin's family is calling on the Border Patrol to justify the shooting, but say, right now, they're focusing on saying goodbye.

The lawyer for Tachiquin's family says they will be filing a wrongful death lawsuit in the case.
