SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Two men are in custody Sunday after leading officers on a high speed chase that ended near the U.S./Mexico border in San Ysidro.
It ended just before 5 p.m. on the southbound I-805, past the 905 freeway.
According to the CHP, the driver of a grey Ford Explorer failed to yield for officers on the I-805 near 43rd Street and was hitting speeds higher than 100 miles per hour.
From there, the chase continued. Officers set up a spike strip on the freeway near Palm Avenue in Otay Mesa.
The vehicle ended up pulling over after one of its tires blew.
The two men inside tried to get away on foot.
Officers had to taser one of the men. Both were arrested.
