SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Police searched Saturday for three of the four young men who robbed beer from a 7-Eleven store at gunpoint in the Otay Mesa area, after arresting one of the alleged robbers following a second robbery at a nearby convenience store, a San Diego police officer said.
The stickup took place at the 7-Eleven store at 1285 Picador Blvd. about 8:15 p.m. Friday, said SDPD Officer Dino Delimitros.
"Four white males entered the store and stole an 18-pack of beer," Delimitros said. "They were confronted by a clerk in the front of the store, and one of the suspects produced a gun and threatened the clerk."
The clerk was not injured in the robbery.
The suspects were last seen running east on Del Sol Boulevard, Delimitros said.
About 90 minutes later, a suspect robbed some cigarettes at gunpoint from a nearby convenience store, inside a Valero gas station at 3724 Del Sol Blvd., Delimitros said.
That suspect was later spotted by a helicopter circling the area. He was taken into custody after being tasered by police.
Clerks at both convenience stores identified this suspect as one of the thieves and he was booked for both of the robberies, Delimitros said.
