SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A man is under arrest after allegedly opening fire in a Mira Mesa neighborhood Tuesday.

It happened around 1 a.m., when officers say the gunman, who claimed to be a bails bondsman, came to a home in the 7800 block of Flanders Drive.

After one of the residents refused to come out, the suspect grabbed a shotgun and fired into the air.

Neighbors called 911.

When officers arrived, they caught the alleged shooter about a block away.

Police say he appeared to be under the influence of drugs and had weapons and ammunition in the trunk of his car.

He faces several weapons, assault and narcotics charges.
