SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Thousands filed into Balboa Park on Saturday to take part in the "Walk to Cure Diabetes."
The annual event raises money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
This fundraising walk is now in its 25th year, and there was a great turn-out at Balboa Park. More than 4,000 people showed up to help find a cure for juvenile, type one diabetes.
Saturday, JDRF raised more than $700,000 type one diabetes research. Last year, the organization funded $8.5 million to support 18 research projects in San Diego.
