SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A suspicious package left outside a church in University Heights prompted a response from San Diego police and the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department's bomb squad, officials with the two agencies said.
Police were alerted about 11:30 a.m. to the package that was left outside the door to New Vision Christian Fellowship at 4353 Park Blvd., according to San Diego police Officer Frank Cali.
The San Diego Fire-Rescue Department's bomb squad was called as well, and remained on scene as of about 1:20 p.m., according to a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher.
The intersection of Park and El Cajon boulevards was closed while officials investigated, Cali said.
