Chula Vista teacher arrested on child pornography charges

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 41-year-old South Bay elementary school teacher was on leave from his job Tuesday and facing criminal charges for allegedly possessing child pornography and luring boys into exposing themselves to him online.

John Raymond Kinloch of San Ysidro was arrested Friday after agents with the San Diego Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served a search warrant at his home, according to police. He was released on bail that evening, a jail clerk said.

Authorities began looking into the online activities of Kinloch, a first-grade teacher at Wolf Canyon Elementary in Chula Vista, based on tips received by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, SDPD Lt. Anastasia Smith said.

The investigation allegedly showed that Kinloch, while posing as a girl on a website called "MeetMe," had persuaded boys to disrobe during live one-to-one webcam interactions, according to Smith.

Detectives have found no evidence that the suspect victimized any pupils who attend classes at his workplace, the lieutenant told reporters.

"There's always that possibility that children could come forward later," she said. "At this time, however, we have no information that any inappropriate conduct was occurring at (the) school campus, or as a result of his interactions with his students."
