SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The Junior Seau Foundation held its annual "Shop with a Jock" at the Target in Mission Valley Tuesday night.

Local professional and collegiate atheletes took 250 underprivileged kids shopping for gifts for their loved ones.

The foundation is carrying on Seau's legacy by continuing this holiday tradition that was very special to him. The goal is to teach kids about giving rather than receiving during the holidays.

"I'm happy to be here and help out some kids and continue the legacy of Junior," pro skateboarder Tony Hawk said.

"It's about the kids, it's about carrying on what big June wants and there's nothing like doing that during the holiday season," Chargers defensive tackle Antonio Garay said.

"There's no better gift that you can give a kid than teaching them the gift of giving and that's what this is all about," NFL Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk said.

Each child was given a $100 gift certificate.
