SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The Center for Employment Opportunities held a celebration Wednesday in honor of its first year helping people returning from prison and jail land jobs.
In its first year, CEO San Diego has placed more than 50 high-risk individuals with limited work histories into stable, full-time jobs.
Former inmate Michael Craig says his parole officer recommended the program to him and he now has a full time job.
"This program has dedicated staff that has set goals to find gainful full time employment for everyone, and I was one of the fortunate ones that they have found it for and I am most grateful," Craig said.
The program helps increase public safety, saves taxpayer dollars and combats recidivism.
