The market is primed for the high-end, coastal beauty products offered by Salacia Salts.
Savannah, Ga. (PRWEB) December 06, 2012
Tybee Salt Cottage recently launched Salacia Salts, an exciting new line of environmentally-friendly bath salts and body scrubs featuring fragrances inspired by native Southern botanicals and chic coastal style. All items are made in Savannah, Ga., and serve as sophisticated, stylish gift items for discriminating shoppers.
This high-quality bath and body line captures the spirit of the coast in an exquisite blend of botanicals, essential oils and 100% pure Atlantic sea salt, providing a restorative, soothing bath experience. Salacia Salts products feature natural ingredients and are hand-mixed and packaged in eco-friendly materials including reclaimed, repurposed wine bottles.
“Salacia Salts started, quite literally, with a dream,” said company owner Cari Phelps, an accomplished branding and design expert. “I had a dream I was designing a package of bath salts and creating a sustainable product for a client. The next day, when I woke up, I started doing research and making my dream a reality.”
In keeping with the company’s commitment to environmental conservation and natural beauty, Salacia bath and body products are vegan-friendly and free from sulfates, colorants, parabens, petrochemicals and animal products. All packaging is recyclable, and product labels are biodegradable.
Highlights from the new Salacia Salts line include a collection of luxurious Salt Soaks in four distinctly Southern scents: Magnolia, Peach, Midnight Garden and Southern Pecan. The Salt Soak contains micro-particles of crushed pecans, adding natural scent and color. Salacia’s unique bath salt formula leaves the skin feeling soft and kissed with a delicate, sweet scent.
Salt Soaks are available in 4-ounce, 16-ounce or 25-ounce sizes. The signature 25-ounce size comes packaged in a reclaimed wine bottle, which varies in shape, style and color.
Salacia Salts also features a decadent new Hand & Body Scrub in Midnight Garden and Southern Pecan fragrances. The Hand & Body Scrub, which comes in an 8-ounce tub made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic, contains natural exfoliants leaving skin feeling smooth, rejuvenated and refreshed.
The entire new bath and body line is named after Roman sea goddess Salacia. According to Roman mythology, Salacia traveled through the ocean on a pearl-shell chariot pulled by seahorses and dolphins. Her name is derived from the Latin word “sal,” which means salt, evoking the spirit of the sea.
“Salt once served as a precious commodity,” said Phelps. “We’re delighted to enjoy these riches today and to share them with a wide audience.”
Salacia Salts owner Cari Phelps also serves as the owner of Clark Creative, an award-winning design studio focused on branding and creative design. Based in Savannah, Ga., Phelps has created innovative logos and product designs for dozens of clients including Savannah Bee Company and Savannah Cookie Company. Her design work has been featured in Southern Living, O Magazine, InStyle and The New York Times.
“Salacia Salts is dedicated to environmental conservation, natural beauty and holistic health,” said Phelps. “We’re committed to creating top-quality products informed by environmental responsibility.”
The company’s Salt Soaks and Hand & Body Scrubs make great holiday gifts, hostess gifts and birthday gifts. In Savannah, Salacia Salts items are available at 24e, located at 24 E. Broughton St., Simons Gifts on St Simons Island, Smith Brothers IGA at the Villages at Skidaway, and Herb Creek Landscape Supply.
Phelps plans to expand the company’s line and is confident that the market is primed for high-end bath and body products with strong ties to the coast.
“There is a real demand for high-quality, high-end bath and body products that reflect the charm, grace and spirit of the coast,” said Phelps. “Salacia Salts will help fill that niche.”
