SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A staged "zombie" attack held here in San Diego is being called a huge waste of money.
The simulation was billed as a combat-type event for first responders. It's just one of a list of questionable expenses the Senate is calling out.
The event was held last Halloween at the Paradise Point Resort with 40 hired actors participating in a live war game, complete with pyrotechnic battlefield effects, medical special effects and blank-firing weapons.
In this News 8 video story, Phil Blauer has details from the lawmaker who is asking questions, as well as one of the event's sponsors.
