SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Authorities Monday released the name of one of two pedestrians fatally struck by a car over the weekend on a South Bay street.
Michael Fulk, 50, and a 57-year-old woman were trying to cross Fourth Avenue mid-block near Eucalyptus Park in Chula Vista when the northbound vehicle struck them about 6 p.m. Sunday, according to police and the county Medical Examiner's Office.
Fulk, a Chula Vista resident, died at the scene. The other pedestrian succumbed to her injuries at a hospital a short time later, Capt. Gary Wedge said. Her name is being withheld pending family notification.
The motorist, a 24-year-old Chula Vista resident, was questioned at the scene and released. Intoxication did not appear to be a factor in the accident, according to police.
