TEMECULA (CBS 8) - The Kia of Temecula dealership has now offered to cover the cost of the repairs after a sunroof suddenly exploded on a 2013 Sorrento.
Last week, Marine wife Krystal Miller was driving southbound on Interstate 15 when the sunroof on her brand new SUV exploded, spraying glass on her and her one-year-old daughter.
She took it back to the dealership and was initially told the repairs aren't covered in her warranty.
But on Monday, Kia of Temecula contacted News 8 and offered to repair or replace the SUV at no cost to Miller.
The following is a statement released to News 8 by DCH Kia of Temecula:
"DCH
Kia of Temecula is committed to delivering a superior sales and service
experience to every customer. Recently a customer experienced the
sudden shattering of the vehicle sunroof. After the manufacturer
conducted the necessary inspections and investigation, and determined
that damage to the sunroof is not covered by the warranty on the
vehicle, DCH Kia of Temecula is offering to repair or replace the
vehicle, at no cost to the customer. We have made this offer to the
customer and will await their decision."
