SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) – Traffic was backed up for miles Tuesday morning on Southbound Interstate 15, after an accident caused a motorcyclist to crash into the center divide.
Traffic was stop-and-go between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., even after emergency crews cleared the wreckage. Much of the slowing was just south of Scripps Poway Parkway.
Authorities say, a motorcyclist hit the center divide around 7:00 a.m. The impact caused the man and the front wheel of his bike to fly off the freeway to the street below.
The victim was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital. As of this report, there is no word on his condition.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
