SORRENTO VALLEY (CNS) - A car plowed into a fire hydrant in a Sorrento Valley parking lot early Tuesday, sending water shooting more than two stories into the air for about a half-hour, authorities said.
The non injury crash at the Qualcomm building at 5717 Pacific Center Blvd. was reported at 6:11 a.m., according to a San Diego fire-rescue dispatcher. Water crews turned off the water about a half-hour later, she said.
Aerial views of the property from media helicopters showed the water shooting out of the sheared hydrant surpassed the top of the two-story Qualcomm building. Also showing was about six inches of standing water in the parking lot.
