SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Chargers players were at Juvenile Hall Tuesday to cheer on kids as they competed in the president's fitness challenge.
The team members were invited to come as part of a classroom lesson on letter writing. The kids competed to write the most persuasive letters, and about a dozen of the best were forwarded to the Chargers.
One boy who hopes to play in the NFL someday was looking forward to meeting the players.
"Hopefully with these guys coming to talk to us I can learn some things, just get some inspiration and stuff to do better with my life and stuff like that, cause I would love to do something like that," participant Keshawn said.
The letter writing campaign and Chargers visit are some of the many activities designed to promote positive behavior and lasting change.
