EL CAJON (CBS 8) - The San Diego Humane Society and SPCA has opened its first ever off-site, permanent adoption center inside an El Cajon Petco store.
"The dogs that are here, live here, hopefully get adopted here. Stay in the community and find wonderful homes," said Gary Weitzman the President of the San Diego Humane Society.
The new center will have dogs, cats and rabbits available for adoption.
The Humane Society hopes the center will help reach more people and find homes for even more animals.
Petco and the Humane Society have set a goal to find homes for 50 animals throughout the grand opening weekend.
