SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Talk about an unforgettable holiday reunion.
A cat that went missing from her home in Phoenix seven years ago and ended up here in San Diego has now been reunited with her original owner in Arizona.
Tricia Osterman couldn't contain her emotions as she was reunited with her cat Sophia. The feline was turned over to the San Diego Humane Society by a family that could no longer take care of her.
Sophia was microchipped, which led the Humane Society to her original owner.
"I was in disbelief. How does that happen? How does a cat come up seven years later from Phoenix to San Diego?" Osterman said. "It's a Christmas miracle right now."
There was no word on how Sophia ended up in San Diego in the first place. All that matters to Tricia is that she has her beloved cat back home.
