SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor was in San Diego Sunday as part of her national book tour.
The sold out event was filled with young women and men inspired by her story. Sotomayor is the Court's 111th justice, its first Hispanic justice, and its third female justice.
She was discussing and signing copies of her new memoir titled "My Beloved World" at USD's Shiley Theater.
There was a question and answer portion, but the crowd was told that Sotomayor could not talk about any issues in front of the court.
Instead, she gladly discussed her personal experiences and offered advice.
"I think she's just amazing because she represents what diverse women can do. You know because we are in a field where it is majority white men," said a guest in attendance.
Everyone in the audience received a copy of her book.
