SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Over two dozen people have been arrested in connection with a year-long investigation of major methamphetamine traffickers in San Diego county.
Officers raided 16 different locations Tuesday during "Operation Red Menace." They seized 26 pounds of meth, 31 firearms and more than $150,000 in cash.
Investigators say many of the 28 suspects arrested are documented gang members or associates.
"I'd like to think that the streets are a little bit safer today than they were yesterday. We at least have 26 pounds of meth off the streets of San Diego," prosecutor Aaron Clark said.
Three suspects are still on the loose. FBI officials are asking anyone who may know where they are to call police.
