SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) – Twenty eight people have been arrested in connection with a year-long investigation of major meth traffickers in San Diego County.
Officers raided 16 locations Tuesday for "Operation Red Menace." They seized 26 pounds of meth, 31 firearms and more than $150,000 in cash.
Investigators say many of the suspects are documented gang members or associates.
"I'd like to think that the streets are a little bit safer today than they were yesterday. We at least have 26 pounds of meth off the streets of San Diego," said Prosecutor Aaron Clark.
Three suspects are still on the loose. The FBI is asking anyone with information to call police.
