A 49-year-old man was crossing the street when he was struck by a southbound brown four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota, Delimitros said in a statement. The driver did not stop and was last seen headed west on Pennsylvania Avenue, he said.
The pedestrian suffered an open arm fracture and a head injury, according to Delimitros.
